Boys’ Baseball Leagues and Girls’ Softball Leagues Grades: 3-6 - register online An exciting new format for your busy schedules. Leagues will be divided into three divisions: Grades 3-4 & Grades 5-6 for the boys and Grades 4-6 for the girls. Players will all start with two weeks of skills clinics taught on Saturday afternoons by local professional coaches at BASH Academy located at 2617 W. Fletcher. Following the skills clinic, a nine-game season will begin. The first game will be on April 24th. Games will be mostly on Saturdays but will include three weekday afternoon games to complete the season. The last game will take place on June 12th. Games will be played at one of the lakefront parks. Occasional individual team practices may be called by your coaches but regular practice days are not assigned. Volunteer coaches needed, please call Gary or Erica at (312) 664-4631. All teams will make the playoffs. Saturday games will be at 3:00 or 4:45 pm and weekday games will start at 4:15 pm. No games on Memorial Day Weekend (May 29-31).
Girls learn the basics of 12” softball during three weeks of skills training. Players are then assigned to a team to begin their game schedule. The emphasis is on skill enhancement through playing and fun! This 90-minute program meets once a week. Menomonee staff coaches.

Please join us in a special offering for young baseball enthusiasts. Fun and sportsmanship will be emphasized by our experienced Menomonee coaching staff. The first three weeks of this league are devoted to skills and drills. During the fourth week each child is placed on a team for six weeks of exciting team play. Don’t miss this fun program!
Calling all basketball nuts! Each week, players will practice basketball skills, pick new teams, and play supervised, grade-appropriate games. Great fun for aspiring hoopsters. Participants will be divided into age-appropriate groups.
One-on-One’s dedicated instructors will conduct weekly 45-minute clinics as an introduction to basketball and physical fitness for you and your children. Classes will be adult interactive as participants learn the fundamentals of the sport with an emphasis on dribbling and ball handling. Classes will include basic footwork and hand-eye coordination drills and games, as well as learning the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Lil Sluggers is a child development program created to introduce children ages 2-6 to the game of baseball. Classes develop important baseball skills such as throwing, catching, hitting, and base running. Developmentally appropriate equipment and games are used to teach your child the game in a fun, exciting, and positive environment. Come join Edgars Legzdins for some soccer fun. Edgars will teach boys and girls the “ins and outs” of soccer. Individual skill training is enhanced through sportsmanship and teamwork concepts. Edgars has been playing soccer all his life, including club and overseas teams, and has coached soccer at the high school level. Edgars has trained U8, U9 and U13 boys and girls teams with the Pegasus Soccer Club in Deerfield and the Northbrook FC soccer club. Shin guards are recommended for this class.
Lil’ Kickers is a non-competitive, introductory soccer and movement skills program for boys and girls ages 18 months to 5 years. In Lil’ Kickers we don’t just teach soccer to kids, but use soccer to teach kids about teamwork and cooperation. Lil’ Kickers is the ultimate child development program. Learn the classic Japanese Olympic sport as we teach it - with a modern twist. Our supportive staff will help kids develop self-confidence, self-discipline, coordination and agility. Our successful program has been recognized by the United States Judo Federation for excellence in teaching and has produced many recent local, regional, national and international champions. Taught by Sensei Brett Wolf, a former national champion with over 20 years of experience. Returning students must check with Sensei for class level.

The Menomonee Club Fencing Team provides an intensive fencing experience that will grow skills quickly. The team classes are fun and educational with games, drills and a lot of fencing! This program is designed to provide students with training programs and private lessons to prepare them for national-level competition. Taught by Tsanko Hantov and Windy City Fencing.
These classes will provide a great introduction to fencing and a forum for more advanced training. We’ll make this class fun as well as educational. Taught by Tsanko Hantov and Windy City Fencing. Tsanko competed in the 2000 Olympic Games and won a Bronze medal at the 2001 World Cup (England) in the Modern Pentathlon. He was a National Senior Champion in 1998 and a National Junior Champion in 1995 and 1996 men’s epee in Bulgaria. Tsanko has coached fencing for more than seven years, and has extensive experience training fencers at all levels. He has been the head coach at Windy City Fencing since 2005. He is a graduate of the National Sports Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria and is now the owner of Windy City Fencing, Inc. Instructor approval is needed for all advanced classes. These action-packed classes feature the secret arts and awesome techniques of Taekwondo (a Korean martial art). An Olympic sport utilizing exciting blocks, kicks, and punches, Taekwondo also develops control and self-discipline. Taekwondo teaches techniques that can be used for both self-defense and competition. Students will be instructed by Grand Master Kidd, who is a certified and licensed instructor by the United States Taekwondo Union and holds a sixth degree black belt (World Taekwondo Federation). Grand Master Kidd is the highest ranked non-Korean martial artist in Illinois, and has over 20 years teaching experience. It is recommended, but not required, for students to take classes twice weekly.

RIC Caring for kids provides year-round adaptive sports and recreation programs including two 4-week summer camps for youth ages 7-17 specifically with physical disabilities.
