Be sure to register early for this unique opportunity - space is limited! Menomonee Club Players Pledge: I understand that as a member of a Menomonee Club team. I have an obligation to the other members of my team. I will try my best to attend all practices and games. I will notify my coach if I am unable to attend a game. I understand that if I do not attend a game, my team may have to forfeit. Sports "Rain Day" Policy If raining prior to class time, please check our website at www.menomoneeclub.org or call us at 312-664-4631 ext 2 about 45 minutes before scheduled game/practice for cancellation notices. If rain begins during class time, promptly pick up children from the fields. Sorry, there are no make-up dates. If your class is cancelled, children are welcome to come to the Clubhouse. If you're interested in assisting with any form of sponsorship, please call Tanya Ray at 312-664-4631 x104 Boys’ Baseball Leagues and Girls’ Softball Leagues - register online Grades: 3-6 An exciting new format for your busy schedules. Leagues will be divided into three divisions: Grades 3-4 & Grades 5-6 for the boys and Grades 4-6 for the girls. Players will all start with three weeks of skills clinics taught on Saturday afternoons by local professional coaches either at one of our convenient lakefront parks or a nearby location. Following the skills clinic, a nine-game season will begin. The first game will be on April 25th. Games will be mostly on Saturdays but will include three weekday afternoon games to complete the season. The last game will take place on June 13th. Games will be played at one of the lakefront parks. Occasional individual team practices may be called by your coaches but regular practice days are not assigned. All teams will make the playoffs. Saturday games will be at 3:00 or 4:45 pm and weekday games will start at 4:15 pm. Players are then assigned to a team to begin their games schedule. The emphasis is on skill enhancement through playing and fun! Coach- pitched, safety balls used. Fun and sportsmanship will be emphasized by our experienced Menomonee coaching staff. The first three weeks of this league are devoted to skills and drills. During the fourth week each child is placed on a team for six weeks of exciting team play. Don’t miss this fun program! Edgars will teach boys and girls the “ins and outs” of soccer. Individual skill training is enhanced through sportsmanship and teamwork concepts. Edgars has been playing soccer all his life, including club and overseas teams, as well as coaching varsity soccer at the high school level. Running Club is about more than just running; it’s a wonderful way to make new friends, learn basic running techniques together, and enjoy the bonding spirit of running. The program is designed to assist girls who have goals of running a 5K race or simply weekend fun-running. Our supportive staff will help kids develop self-confidence, self-discipline, coordination and agility. Our successful program has been recognized by the United States Judo Federation for excellence in teaching and has produced many recent local, regional, national and international champions. Taught by Sensei Brett Wolf, a former national champion with over 20 years of experience. Returning students must check with Sensei for class level. Caring for Kids also offers weekly Sunday yoga and karate classes at the Drucker Center through Yoga for the Special Child and thousand wave Martial Arts and Self-Defense Center. We’ll make this class fun as well as educational. In the last four years, Windy City Fencing at Menomonee has won more than twenty medals from national tournaments, summer nationals, and the North American Cup (NAC), and more than thirty medals in sectional and divisional competitions. Taught by Tsanko Hantov and Windy City Fencing. Tsanko competed in the 2000 Olympic Games and won a Bronze medal at the 2001 World Championship (England) in the Modern Pentathlon. He was a National Senior Champion in 1998 and a National Junior Champion in 1995 and 1996 men’s epee in Bulgaria. Tsanko has coached fencing for more than seven years, and has extensive experience training fencers at all levels. He has been the head coach at Windy City Fencing since 2005. He is a graduate of the National Sports Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria and is now the owner of Windy City Fencing, Inc. Instructor approval is needed for all advanced classes. An Olympic sport utilizing exciting blocks, kicks, and punches, Taekwondo also develops control and self-discipline. Taekwondo teaches techniques that can be used for both self-defense and competition. Students will be instructed by Grand Master Kidd, who is a certified and licensed instructor by the United States Taekwondo Union and holds a sixth degree black belt (World Taekwondo Federation). Grand Master Kidd is the highest ranked non-Korean martial artist in Illinois, and has over 20 years teaching experience. It is recommended, but not required, for students to take classes twice weekly. Classes will be adult interactive as participants learn the fundamentals of the sport with an emphasis on dribbling and ball handling. Classes will include basic footwork and hand-eye coordination drills and games, as well as learning the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.
