Fall 2009 Programs

Grades: SK-6 Hands-on projects that teach the styles, techniques and works of great artists (past and present). This class offers a fun combination of art history and artistic skill building. We will draw, paint, sculpt, and sketch mini masterpieces of our very own! Taught by Marisa Ievans. CRE-101 Monday
Grades: SK–6 This class features creative crafts for clever kids. We will go beyond the canvas to bring you original art using a variety of methods. We will keep busy crafting and creating with everything from paper and paint to clay and beads. We will also feature green projects using recycled materials! Taught by Marisa Ievans. CRE-201 Tuesday
Grades: SK–6 Join Mad Science for eight weeks of fun science activities! Different topics will be covered every week. Learn the fundamentals of flight and test them with paper airplanes, experience how things move with different kinds of forces, discover the science behind some of your favorite magic tricks and much, much more! Grades: SK–6 Oh give me a home where the junior chefs roam and the taste of good cooking is near. Where often is heard an encouraging word as we make chow to eat with our peers. Home, home on the range, where the kids are the cooks for a change. Where we’ll gather our grub into small plastic tubs and carry it home to our range. Taught by Robin Schroud. Grades: JK & SK Good old-fashioned fun abounds at FUN CLUB! Play time, story time, art projects, hands-on science, cooking, social skills, and fun Old Town field trips! What more could a child desire?! Our academically-experienced and caring staff provides a safe and enriching environment for your child. Children should bring a lunch to eat each week with their friends. Please note that enrollment in Fun Club is limited to only one session per week. Taught by Amy Ewaldt. Grades: 5–8 Educational Endeavors (EE) provides one-on-one academic tutoring to students attending independent, charter, and public schools. Tutoring sessions address fundamental skills every student requires (organization, time management, competency) and focus directly on the individual needs of your child. Our staff is trained in specific subjects as well as in general study and organizational skills, and has provided thousands of hours of tutoring to students attending a wide range of educational institutions. EE also prepares students for standardized testing and all required high school entrance exams. Tutoring can be provided at the EE office (in the Drucker Center) or at a student's home.
