The Urban Kids Knit Club

Grades: 3–8

The re-emerging and trendy art of knitting has resurfaced in metropolitan cities around the globe! In New York, San Francisco, and Paris (just to name a few) kids have rediscovered the fun of what they can create with two knitting needles. And now, we bring our first funky knit club to Chicago! Calling all yarn-loving kids; we especially welcome beginners. We will start out small, learning the basics of casting on and a few simple stitches and knitting small fashion accessories to wear to school. Then we will expand our skills to different stitches and larger knit items. Each class will also make one joint project that will somehow grace our Old Town Clubhouse neighborhood. Taught by Kelly Friedl. All yarn and needles will be supplied by our sponsor company, The Urban Infant.
